The Eye of the Serpent Ring
This listing is for a MADE TO ORDER Eye of the Serpent ring, paying respect to one of my favorite creatures, the snake. An eye catching pendant with the focal point of a glass stone showcasing a real snake shed, from a Ball Python. Sterling silver wire and hand formed balls decorate and draw your attention to the mesmerizing snake's texture in the center. The whole piece is given a patina to make the piece look antiqued, and high contrast, and then given a wax coating with some lavender oil, to keep the patina in place.
Snakes are often used as symbols of both death and immortality. Joseph Campbell once wrote. "Serpents seem to incarnate the elementary mystery of life wherever apparent opposites are conjoined".
Like a snake whose eyes always remain open, this necklace will aid you in being alert and aware of your surroundings.

Ring can be made in whatever size you need, and will be made with a single 8g half round sterling silver band, unless you contact me to request otherwise.
The 'snake shed stone' measures 3/4" tall, and the full pendant measures roughly 1 1/4" tall and 1/2" across.

Because this piece is made to order, please allow up to 6 - 8 weeks for delivery. I strive to get custom order finished within a week or two, but if I need to order more metals, or have a long queue, it may take the full time - if it is time sensitive feel free to ask ahead of time!
As a side note, due to the natural and delicate nature of the snake shed it is not recommended to wear this ring underwater. Without thinking I have worn mine swimming and there were no issues, however it is always wise to not press ones luck and allow delicate and treasured pieces to receive only minimal time in the elements.
